teach.Position SummaryThe School of Hospitality at Metropolitan
State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for
temporary, part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions.For more

Denver enrolls over 16,000 students, where nearly 60% are first
generation and over 55% are students of color. Located in downtown
Denver, we are a designated (HSI), an INSIGHT into Diversity Higher
Education Excellence in Diversity () Award winner for 10

As the third largest institution of higher education in Colorado

minoritized groups.Responsibilities
- Teach 3+ credit hours. Subject areas may include, but are not
limited to: Food Fundamentals, Food Science, Food Production and
Service I, Food Production and Service II
- Will work and interact with diverse groups of students,
faculty, and staff
- Will demonstrate ability to effectively infuse technology into
coursework
- Will be available for consultation with studentsAn affiliate
faculty member's duties include but are not limited to: teaching
assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content
to students, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading
student work, providing students with robust feedback in a timely
manner, addressing student questions consistent with university,
college/school, and department policies, and providing online or in
person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for
the teaching assignment; providing instruction in assigned classes
consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular
course syllabus and, if required, with department course
coordination policies; conducting student assessments as prescribed
by curriculum; maintaining office hours; and complying with
university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer
observation policies.Required QualificationsCompletion of a
Master's degree in the field in which the faculty member is
assigned to teach ORa Bachelor's degree in a hospitality-related
discipline plus professional experience that is current at the time
of hire, that has been substantial in terms of duration and level
of responsibility, and that clearly links to the field in which the
faculty member is expected to teach. Normally, this experience is
no less than ten consecutive years with increasing levels of
responsibility and significant levels of supervisory experience.If
the Master's degree is outside the field in which the faculty
member is assigned to teach, there is an increased expectation of
substantial professional work experience in the
discipline.Preferred QualificationsNationally recognized
certificates and licenses relevant to the field in which the
faculty member is assigned to teach. (e.g., CEC, FMP, etc.)Terms of
EmploymentAffiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired
to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually
on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible
for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program. All
such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and
enrollment.Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in
