Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career
opportunity for a Staff Engineer Systems - PRISM/Requirements Lead
(24-310) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This
position will be in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and
Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense
System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S.
president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at
strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan
ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop
collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked
sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission
objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability
that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all
phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and
regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and
weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is
integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and
exercise all current and future missile defense system
capabilities. Provide Systems Engineering leadership to ensure a
disciplined system engineering approach to defining, developing,
and analyzing the system's capabilities. Based on the understanding
of the design and results of comparisons, use related systems
engineering tools and documents to analyze, understand, and propose
changes to systems engineering analysis, user CONOPS and system
operational concepts, and system and interface requirements
specifications in support of C2BMC. Work towards future BMDS
capabilities such as sensor management, tasking, cueing, and
discrimination architecture. Learn, understand, and represent the
point of view of the warfighters, operators, and systems owners,
and see that it is properly respected throughout the engineering
efforts. Works as a member of the systems engineering team to
develop innovative solutions to existing and new problems in their
areas of expertise and ensure that the system's requirements are
understood and implemented correctly. This is one of five
leadership roles within the Systems Engineering team, part of the
Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Resource
Management Area (RMA). Essential Functions:
- As needed, participate in developing, executing, and analyzing
the results of various software tests in a lab environment.
- Coordinate engineering disciplines to resolve system-level
issues.
- First line of leadership for all PRISM team members and reports
to the SE Engineering Manager.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate metrics of team
progress.
- Supports all team staffing responsibilities, including
interviewing new candidates, dealing with team performance issues,
and supporting team member growth and development.
- Expected to be technically competent in all the work the team
performs so that they can act as a reviewer of products to ensure
quality.
- Responsible for defining and ensuring compliance with PRISM
team processes.
- As the Platform for Requirements, Interfaces, and System
Modeling (PRISM) team lead, responsibilities include management of
the daily operations of the PRISM team, including proposing,
planning, and executing the work of the PRISM team.Basic
Qualifications: Please note your updated security clearance and
IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
- An active Secret clearance is required to start.
- 12 years' experience with a bachelor's degree in engineering,
computer science, mathematics or a related field; 10 years'
experience with a master's degree in engineering, computer science,
mathematics or a related field
- Strong system engineering and proven leadership experience are
required.
- Experience performing system engineering for large, complex
systems, including requirements analysis and decomposition,
Interface definition, root cause analysis, application design,
integration, and testing, is a must.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are also a
must.
- Some travel, primarily between Huntsville and Colorado Springs,
and trips to Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO, will
be required.Colorado Springs salary range: $150,000 - $225,000

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:Salary Range: $150,000 -
$225,000The above salary range represents a general guideline;
however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when
determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice
President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
(PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period
